About St. George Roof Cost

What this site is — and isn't

We research and publish roofing cost data, Utah consumer-protection law explainers, and contractor-vetting checklists for the St. George area. When you're ready for real quotes, we connect you with an independent, third-party roofing contractor who serves your part of Washington County.

To say it plainly: we are not a roofing company. We don't climb ladders, hold a contractor license, employ crews, or perform or supervise any roofing work. The contractors we refer requests to are independent businesses — they quote their own prices, do their own work, and carry their own licenses and insurance, which you should verify yourself before hiring anyone (roofing in Utah is DOPL specialty classification S280, searchable at secure.utah.gov).

Contractors who receive referrals from this site may pay us for those referrals. That arrangement is how the site is funded — and it never changes the price a contractor quotes you, and it never changes what our research says. How the cost research works

Every dollar figure on this site follows the same rules, and they're stricter than most of what you'll find searching "roof cost":

• Published sources only, cited and dated. Our ranges come from national and Utah construction-cost datasets — This Old House (RSMeans/Gordian pricing data and a 1,000-homeowner survey), Angi, HomeGuide, InstantRoofer's contractor-pricing database — plus a real, itemized St. George quote. We name the source and its publication date next to every table.
• One ledger, no contradictions. Every figure lives in a single internal pricing ledger, so the range you read on one page can't quietly disagree with another page. Last full verification: August 10, 2026.
• Ranges, never quotes. Published data tells you what a fair market looks like. Your roof's size, pitch, material, and condition set the real number — which is why every guide ends with "get more than one itemized bid," not a price promise.
• Law from the source. Claims about Utah law — like the deductible-rebate ban and the five-day cancellation right under the Insured Homeowners Protection Act — are read from the enrolled statute text at le.utah.gov, cited by section, and date-stamped.
